A rare interview with Peven Everett
I don’t see it as pressure—I see it as a new climate. But a new climate doesn’t mean I have to change the way I operate. People will always find a way to connect if they truly want to, whether that’s through social media or through live performances.
Navigating social media has been interesting—it comes with both positives and challenges. But for me, the most important thing has always been making sure people don’t forget the power of live music. Being present on stage, in the moment, is something that can’t be replaced by an online presence.
At the end of the day, I believe in always being prepared. If you stay ready, you don’t have to get ready. That mindset has kept me grounded no matter how the industry evolves. To me, professionalism starts with showing up fully prepared—whether that’s for a live show, a recording session, or whatever new medium comes next.
