WANTED: SUPERVISORY BOARD MEMBER

STICHTING JAZZPODIUM ROTTERDAM trading as LIVE@BIRD

Due to the periodic resignation of one of the members, Live@BIRD is looking for a new member for the Supervisory Board as of January 2025.

ABOUT LIVE@BIRD

BIRD was founded in 2011 as a venue for black music genres in response to the lack of attention for these genres within other cultural institutions in the city. With jazz and hip-hop as standard-bearers and diversity firmly embedded in both the organisation and the audience, BIRD has grown into an internationally respected venue. BIRD is an important player in the Rotterdam cultural sector and the urban nightlife. With a unique artistic profile, BIRD remains true to cultural heritage, provides opportunities for emerging artists and organisers, and appeals to a broad audience.

Stichting Live@BIRD organises the live programme at BIRD and collaborates with BIRD BV.

SUPERVISORY BOARD

The Supervisory Board consists of at least three members with complementary expertise. Besides a clear affiliation with Live@BIRD, members should have sufficient knowledge in areas such as culture, management, finance, marketing, commerce, society and/or have legal knowledge.

The Supervisory Board meets at least four times a year for a meeting with the board. The candidate has insight into internal and external interests, weighs them carefully, and is accountable, shows a willingness to learn, and is aware of the responsibility that the position entails.

As a member, you monitor and stimulate the board's policy and assist in the preparation and implementation of policy with advice. You also monitor the general state of affairs within the foundation. Live@BIRD is seeking a member with expertise that fits within the composition of the Supervisory Board and with a relevant network in the Rotterdam cultural sector.

The Live@BIRD Supervisory Board operates according to the Cultural Governance Code. Other regulations and codes of conduct of the assigned tasks are described in a management regulation that can be sent on request.

Potential candidates will have an interview with a delegation from the Supervisory Board. Interested? Respond with a CV to hugo@bird-rotterdam.nl.
