Kossa Kossa: The Afro Jam of Rotterdam
This concert takes place at location V11
On Friday 5 September, Kossa Kossa takes over V11. Get ready for deep grooves, warm energy and a jam-fueled night of Afro-inspired sounds and raw creativity.
Kossa Kossa is where the sounds of Africa and the African diaspora come together, groovy, soulful and rooted in celebration. It’s not just a concert, it’s a jam, a gathering, a tribute to Black music worldwide.
Live instruments meet electronic energy in a space where rhythm leads and improvisation speaks.
Led by frontman Kay Slice and the Kossa Kossa Band, a diverse mix of self-taught and trained musicians, the session flows through new compositions, reimagined classics and spontaneous sonic moments.
Are you a musician? Bring your instrument.
Kossa Kossa is open to anyone who wants to jump in. Sing, play, vibe, he stage is yours too.
Want to join the jam? Bring your instruments! Musicians and vocalists are always welcome to join the session. “We embrace the mantra of ‘going with the flow’”
This show is made possible thanks to the collaboration between BIRD and V11
V11 is the fantastic red lightship docked in the Wijnhaven. BIRD primarily uses this venue to introduce the Rotterdam audience to up-and-coming artists. The ship’s concert hall holds 100 people, making it a bit smaller than BIRD. That makes it the perfect spot for emerging artists to give intimate shows.
